Innovative Tumbleweed Removal – New Mexico LTAP – Video VH-359 – Prototype development of truck-mounted equipment for automated tumbleweed removal from highway shoulders and median fences is described. Based on the design of hay-balers, the equipment picks up the weeds and runs them through a chipper-shredder into the truck bed. A phone number is given for further information, but results of field testing are not reported.
